Direction:

Research is directed towards understanding, at the cellular and genetic level, the biology and physiology of microorganisms, e.g. cyanobacteria and filamentous fungi of industrial importance. Heterologous gene expression in filamentous fungi is also one of the main interests.

Products and Services
  1. Molecular biology of Spirulina platensis emphasising the regulation of phycocyanin production.

  2. Molecular biology of Mucor rouxii emphasising the regulation of gamma-linolenic acid production

  3. Molecular biology of Aspergillus oryzae emphasising the heterologous gene expression : expression of dengue viral coat protein for the development of diagnostic kit.
